If you’d like to see your blog posts then all you need to do is click on posts on the left hand side. If you’d like to create a new one.
All you have to do is click add new once the page is loaded. All you need to add is a title and your blog post and click publish. If we go back now to the main page we can see there’s categories and these are to make it easier to navigate around your blog posts. Below categories on the left hand side we’ve got tags. Like categories tags makes it easier to group together similar topics. Now we’re going to click on media on the left hand side. Here we’ll display any of the images that you’ve got saved for your website.
If you want to add a new one all you need to do is click add new in the top. Then select the file that you want to add now on the left hand side we’re going to click on pages. Once it’s loaded you will see a list of all the pages on your website. If you want to add a new one just click add new on the top row now. You can add your title and start filling in your page information.
If you’d like to edit one of your pages all you have to do is hover over the title and click on edit. As you can see you can also delete pages and view the full page.
If you’d like to change the theme all you need to do is click add new on the top row now on the left hand side. We’re going to click on comments from here you’ll be able to see who has commented on posts on your website. Back to the left hand side and we’re going to click on appearance. From here you’re going to be able to see which theme is loaded onto your website.
If you want to edit one of your current themes then all you have to do is click on the editor button back to the left hand side. We’re going to click on plugins. From here you’ll be able to see everything installed on your website. If you’d like to add a new plugin. All you need to do is click add new on the top row and search the plugin you want to add.
Now on the left hand side we’re going to click on users in here. You can set permissions for people who may be using your website. This may include editors or publishers who post regularly to your site or someone like a subscriber who comments on your posts. Once you’ve finished adding all their details all you need to do is click on add new user.
Still within the users tab we’re going to click on profiles and this is where you can select things like colour palettes that people use. You can set things like nicknames bio descriptions and change their profile picture. Next on the left hand side we’re going to click on tools. In here it tells us if we want to change our categories into tags. All we need to do is click on import. As you can see you can import other things like Tumblr posts and from other WordPress websites.
If you’re looking to export your WordPress website then click on the export tab.
This allows you to move posts pages and media. If you want to check on your site’s health then click on the tab and it will give you a full breakdown of things. You can improve on back on the left hand side again and if you want to export or erase personal data. This is where you would go to do it now if there’s a bit of custom coding you want to add to your WordPress website. Then all you need to do is click on theme editor and this allows you to customize your themes in CSS.
You could end up breaking your website here. So be careful if you do make any changes the same could be said with the plug-in file editor. If you make any changes in here it could still break your website. So be careful with what changes you make. Finally at the bottom of the list is settings when clicked it gives you all the general settings for your website.
So from here you can change stuff like your site title tagline and you can change the format of your date and time. Below that in the writings tab you can change all the default posts and categories that your post is sent to. Underneath the writings tab you have the reading tab. Once clicked you can set how many posts are displayed on a particular page. You can also change which page it’s displayed on.
Next is the discussions tab and this is where any comments end up from your posts.
I have no comments so I’m going to move on to media. This is where you can standardize the size of your images. Next in the list is permalinks depending on how you want your links to look. You can quickly change them by just clicking on the toggle on the left hand side and clicking the save button. Finally on the left hand side is the privacy tab on this page. You can upload and create privacy settings.
Finally at the very bottom on the left hand side is the collapse menu button. Which just makes the menu smaller. Taking a quick look at the top of the page. Now there is a menu that runs along the top. If you go up to where it says you the website name. You can actually visit your website next to that is a speech box that shows you how many comments are on. Your page and finally if you hover over new you can add posts pages media and other users.
